Vincent was born on January 5, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Benna and Pasquale Farengo. After Vincent graduated from Xaverian High School in 1962, he went to NYCC and studied mechanical drafting.
After graduating, he joined Everlast Saw and Carbide Tools where he worked with his father who started the business. Vincent and his sister continued working at Everlast in New York before moving the company to Naples in 1998.
In 1964, Vincent met Carol LaBarbera in Brooklyn on a blind date. They were married at St. Brendan’s Church in Brooklyn in 1966 and lived there until 1972. They then bought their first home in Baldwin on Long Island in NY. Vincent and Carol went on to have three daughters, Jennifer, Dana and Patricia.
In 1998, Vincent and Carol moved south to Naples. IN 2015, Vincent retired from Everlast and spent his time playing tennis at Longshore Lake, woodworking, cooking, traveling and cruising with Carol and their friends and spending time with his five grandchildren in Naples and New Jersey.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife Carol Farengo (nee LaBarbera), his daughters Jennifer Shover (Joel), Dana Farengo-Clark (Scott) and Patricia Flowers (Michael), his sister Josephine Farengo, and his much adored grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, Ryan and Allyson Shover and Benna Clark.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 12PM with a celebration of life to follow at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens from 1:00PM-5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Avow Hospice in Naples or the Clyde F. Barker Transplant House at the University of Pennsylvania.
