Robert S. Docs Sr.

Formerly of Lorain, Ohio and Green, Ohio. Naples has been his home since 1999.

Robert (Bob) will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

His greatest accomplishment was his family. He was so proud of his family and would share his pride with anyone who would listen. He also was a very successful State Farm Insurance Agent for 36 years, retiring in 1998. He touched many lives during those 36 years. He was very active throughout his life in community service and organizations. He loved being a member of the Kiwanis Club, Naples Hungarian Club, and Green School Board. He was a Coach of numerous sports while his children were growing up and then he loved cheering on his children, grandchildren (“Everybody Up!!!”) and great-grandchildren in their endeavors. He was a devout Catholic who enjoyed being part of the Daily Mass as a Lay Minister and Lector.

Bob was a "regular" at Mel's Diner in Golden Gate, where he was treated like royalty. After getting his fill, he would return home as a superfan to watch his Cleveland "Indians". He loved golf and was an avid golfer, having 4 Hole-in-Ones over his lifetime.

Bob is preceded in death by his soulmate and wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Docs. He is survived by his loving children: Robert Jr. (Patricia) Docs; Kathleen (Brian) Wellock; James (Kara) Docs and Jon Docs. His loving Grandchildren: Austin (Angie), Robert III (Janna), Andrew (Trisha), Kyle (Jamie), Ethan and Ben. He was blessed to have seven great grandchildren; Ava, Addison, Aidan, Avery, Alexa, Nathan and KJ. He also leaves his dear friend, Josephine Hanna.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 625 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida, on Thursday June 30, 2022 at 12:00pm. Visiting hours preceding at 11:30am at the Church. Entombment will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens, where Bob will be laid to rest next to his wife, Shirley.
