Nick had an infectious laugh and was genuinely interested in the people he met. There was an honesty with how he lived his life. He had the biggest heart, and was willing to drop everything to help and talk with anyone. Nick was one of a kind and will be dearly missed. Heaven got a little bigger today. For now we see in mere riddles but then we will see face to face. 

I remember helping Fr. Joe prepare the church for your wedding.  Hunting Naples for sunflowers for the altar.
And not a year later getting to hold your newest family member.

I was a ballet dancer at Etudes de Ballet in Naples for many years and the Wardein Family were such an integral and wonderful part of my experience there. Nick would perform in our recitals/shows because we needed a male character and always fulfilled his roles with so much joy: absolutely incredible to be a part of the same production with Nick. His gregarious presence at the studio, the abundant love he had for his children and his sweet disposition helped make Etudes feel like home. Ruth is the kind of person who radiates beauty, strength, Christlike qualities and was an absolutely wonderful teacher for all the little dancers at our studio.  Nick and Ruth were a match made in heaven, and as a young girl seeing the love they had for each other and their three children resonates with me as an adult. Ruth, Liora, Xavier and Clara, I am praying ardently that God will grant you peace in this time of mourning. Nick is waiting for you in heaven. 

Prayers for healing strength through your deep faith in God. I was a teacher of the lovely eldest Wardein years ago and still so proud of the way the Wardeins have raised their children and created a family of dreams through dance, baking, and togetherness in their faith.  I am so sorry for your loss, may the grace of God carry you.

Even though we didn't see each other since Nick was a very young boy in California because of the miles that separated us. The stories from Mary and grandma and grandpa kept us in touch with what a great man that Nick had become.  We only wish that we could have come to know him better during those years.  Ruth you are truly blessed to have shared your life with a loving, caring , honorable and godly man like Nick. Liora, Xavier, and Clara, you too are truly blessed to have a father that set forth an example of unselfish love.  He will truly be missed.  Let your memories of him become moments to remember the blessing he was and continues to be in your life.  Ecclesiastes 3:4, "A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance." God gave us the emotion of weeping and mourning , but also gave us the the laughter and the dance to come forth out of mourning,  there is healing in laughter and in dancing. Proverbs 3:5,6.  We Love you, Uncle David and Aunt Nancy.

Nick was one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He glorified God in everything he did. He was a great conversationalist and had interesting things to say about anything from The Bible to music, poetry and even politics. He always had a smile and fun socks. He was so selfless and always came to my rescue. He let me drive his car when I was in need, a car that apparently no one else was allowed to drive. When he was showing me his new family car, I mentioned that it was my dream car and he said that if he didn't need it, he'd give it to me. That was just how kind and giving he was. I'll forever treasure our conversations and thank the Lord for the privilege of knowing Nick. 

I am so thankful to Ruth and Nick for making me feel welcome as I tagged along on dance outings.  Nick was truly a dance dad, toting dancers, costumes, being the taxi service as well as always being accommodating without a complaint at all. My daughter is thankful for all the times she was welcomed into their home and Nick making her feel like an “ adopted” daughter and a part of the family.  We are blessed to have known him and his kind nature and generous spirit.  Prayers of comfort and peace for Ruth, Liora, Xavier, Clara and the entire family.

I met Nick in the early fall of 2017 during the opening of the bakery; fixing cabinets, draws, etc.    I did not know who he was, but I liked his corny jokes, his bright smile, the way he laughed and he was smart.  Then Ruth introduced me and said, "this is my husband".....I said to myself, yep....a match made in heaven.

Certain souls shine brighter than others....Nick was glowing! 

Close your eyes.....and you will see his smile.....listen in silence....and you will hear his laugh.

I will never forget his beautiful bright soul.

God has blessed you Ruth, Liora, Xavier and Cara....Nick's brightness shines within you forever.

I am honored to have met such a soul.

It’s not easy to be strong for your kids,  while you are morning the loss of your husband. It is a very sad moment. You have all my affection. God bless you and your children. 

Nick and I often served at the same Mass as Eucharistic ministers. I am a better person for having known this beautiful young man. My heartfelt condolences to the lovely Ruth and family.   You are all in my hearts and prayers. And “may YOUR hearts heal with the sunrise of each new day.”

The love & heartfelt emotions driven by the terrible, senseless, tragic events that happen in life are Indescribable. But the love & peace you can witness & be apart of, in my opinion is God, holding you all together. Nick was loving Xavier, spending precious time with him, not in a million years thinking anything like this would happen. My heart aches for you all 💔I’m so glad you’re all there, to hold each other up. I have always witnessed what a wonderful closeness the Wardien Clan has ❤️ Every family would be blessed to have such a wonderful love & closeness with their families! I am praying that maybe this will bring you all even closer & that the pain will eventually be replaced by peace, love & priceless memories. I’ve been praying non-stop, especially hard for Xavier, Mary, Ruth, their children & Nicks siblings. I am honored to have met & spent what little time I did w/them. Ruth is so sweet, precious & fun to be around. I pray she doesn’t lose that part of herself, because I think that’s 1 of the many reasons why Nick fell in love w/her 💞 they were blessed by 3 beautiful children, whom her & Nick created together, leaving parts of both of them in their children. That is a precious miracle! I am wrapping you all in a huge (mental) hug 🫂 God Bless Nick & all those who loved him ❤️

Nick was the most caring and friendly person I had the pleasure of working with. Always had a smile on his face. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss, from the Molina family. 

Nick was an amazing coworker, friend, great man, great EMT, and someone that I looked up to early on in my career for many reasons. He is and will be missed. 

Nick worked with me at LCEMS,  he was such a great friend/ co-worker. The first time I met Nick, we were on a three man truck ,we had so much fun. I had trouble remembering his last name , so I called him The Warden:) he laughed at me. Nick was always there for me whenever I needed a shift swap. Nick would say whatever you need Trish , I’m here to help. I will never forget the time he listened to me vent , when I was going thru a difficult time that no one knew about , but Nick was there to share his support and kind words. Nick will never be forgotten. Such an amazing person inside and out! I feel very blessed to have known him . ❤️🙏❤️ Trish

I was Blessed to have worked with Nick on his 1st go with LCEMS. He was a great partner and we talked about health and fitness stuff. He gave me a recipe for Italian guacamole and I will never forget it!!

My heart goes out to his wife Ruth and his three children and his whole family and friends I know he will be greatly missed by all.
Nick was one of my first and closest friends when I first moved here from Germany about 13 and 1/2 years ago he took me in with open arms and introduced me to his family. I will never forget all the time we spent together and I will always carry you in my heart my friend.
