Michael G. Rancier, 74, long time resident of Naples, FL, passed away at Naples Baker Hospital on November 6th from complications of heart surgery. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Victoria Heady Rancier, his daughter Deanne Rancier Hutchison and her husband Curt (Villa Grove, Illinois), his son, Steven Michael Rancier (Naples), his Daughter Elisabeth (Sissy) Rancier and her partner James Hanrahan (Naples), his beloved 5 grandchildren Justin, Jordin, Mia, Quincy, Neilani and 2 great-grandchildren, Trinity and Ava.
Michael was born on November 2, 1947 in Syracuse, NY. His parents, Delbert Rancier and Lucille Arlene Simon Rancier pre-deceased him. He grew up on his family’s farm in Cicero, NY with his 2 brothers (Roger and Gary) and two sisters (Deanne and Mary). His sister Deanne passed at the young age of 5 and his older brother, Roger, died in 1994.
Mike graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1965. He served in the US Navy from 1968-72, doing a tour of duty in Vietnam. After he was honorably discharged, he began his long and successful career in the construction industry. He was transferred to Naples in 1978 working for Venetian Bay Construction. He retired as a Construction Superintendent with D. Garrett Construction, Naples. Mike loved boating fishing, hunting, bowling, and shooting in his younger years and his family and lawn after retirement. Celebration of life will be this summer at the family’s convenience.
