He served in the Army in Europe for 18 months before heading back to New York to start his career as a CPA. He owned Martin H. Martin was an avid tennis player who played on his high school tennis team, college tennis team and arranged tennis tournaments when in the Army. When the tennis courts in Brooklyn were in disrepair, he created the Bay 8th Street Tennis Association to help improve the facility. He then volunteered to help other local public courts create tennis associations and later created the Park Tennis Association. He also volunteered with the Bay Ridge Community Council and led the group as president.
Martin and his wife Leslie have two children, Andrea and Douglas. They have four grandchildren, Kristyn, Alexander, Chloe and Scott.
Martin loved to travel. He and his wife have been all over Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. He’s been to far exotic places such as Myanmar, New Zealand, Tunisia, and Egypt.
He became a snowbird in 1998, living in Sterling Oaks in North Naples, and Cutchogue, NY. Martin moved into Arbor Glen in North Naples in August 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie, daughter Andrea and her husband Greg Stetson, son Douglas and his wife Sheryl Pearl, and his four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edith Pearl, and his brother, Richard Pearl.
