Mom passed away in her room peacefully as she so desired accompanied by her only son. Maria was a elementary school teacher in Honduras she attended Atenea high school, Two years at Ma. Cristina Academy and two years at Manuel Bonilla College. Mom immigrated to New Orleans in 1959 There she met her future husband Carlos Eduardo Hernandez they were married in 1960 soon after they moved to New York City. On July 4th 1964 she gave birth to her only son Jorge E Hernandez. In 1967 Maria and her family moved to Silver Spring Maryland. Mom was employed at the United States Catholic conference immigration and naturalization services in Washington DC where she worked as a case social worker specializing in visas and immigration documents until June of 1977. Mom became a Citizen of the United States in 1971, Mom had the opportunity to help bring all of her family to the United States and she also helped hundreds of individuals become residents of the United States. In the summer of 1977 we moved to Miami Florida where we resided until 1988 and then making her last move to Naples Florida. Mom was a devout Christian dedicating all of her life to the service and ministry of God. She had the opportunity to travel to Central and South America and across the United States working as a missionary/evangelist. Her passion was always loving and serving people, she especially loved children. Mom was always actively involved in the community, visiting the hospitals and jail ministry. She was always available to help counsel and pour into the lives and needs of individuals. Mom was given the nickname Mama Rosita at Church she became the adopted mom and grandma of hundreds of people over the years. Mom loved to cook she enjoyed gardening and her favorite flower was always Red roses. Mom is the youngest of four sisters, mom's immediate family her son Jorge her granddaughter Natalie her grandson Jeremiah and her daughter-in-law Susanne. Thank you mom for being such a dedicated devoted loving mom my whole life! I love you enjoy your next journey in heaven with your loved ones and your friends. Love you Forever
