Lorraine Holiday Walker, 96, formerly from Little Silver, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. Lorraine was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Stella and Joseph Holiday. She was a cheerleader and graduated from Red Bank High School, and Edgewood Park Junior College in New York majoring in Merchandising. She married her high school sweetheart, Ken Walker, Jr. and together they spent 63 years raising their five children in Shrewsbury. She was a Girl Scout leader, umpire in sports games at the YMCA and a volunteer at the Women’s Exchange in Little Silver, NJ and Interfaith Neighbors in Asbury Park. She played Golf and knitted with the “Stitch for Time” fundraising group at the Deal Golf and Country Club. She relocated to Florida 2018 and continued her hobbies from embroidery to knitting, to painting keeping her busy through her years where she loved her Bingo and Card events at her apartment at Bradford Square in Naples.
Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth L. Walker, Jr., two sons, Kenneth L. (Kip) Walker III; David Walker; grandson, Kenneth L. Walker, IV; Son-in-law, Robert Bumsted, Sr.; Daughter-in-law, Michele Walker, and brother, Robert Holiday. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Alan) Shatto; Suzanne (Stephen) Barberio, and Cynthia Bumsted; 9 Grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at Saint William Catholic Church in Naples on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Dignity Hodges Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
