Karen was born September 21, 1941, in Patterson, NJ. The daughter of John and Susan Dusek, she resided in New Jersey until moving to Naples in 1976.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and 2 siblings, Richard Dusek and Marlene Dusek Merritt. Karen is also preceded by her husband of 60 years, Emil Bloom in March 2021. Karen is survived by her son Kenneth Bloom, daughters Kimberly (Gregg) Ikenberry, Kerry (HL) Burkley, Keena (Kerry) Coughlin, Kara (Eric) Ruha and 9 grandchildren: Taylor Bloom, CJ Ikenberry, Anna Ikenberry, Christian Coughlin, Sara Coughlin, Lilly Burkley, Henry Burkley, Evelyn Ruha and Johnathan Ruha.
Wife and loving mother, Karen devoted much of her time to raising her 5 children and attending her grandchildren’s many activities. Karen was member of the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary in New Jersey. She was an active member of Police Athletic League parent organization in Naples.
She enjoyed hosting weekend dinners for her family, playing BINGO and Saturday card games with friends.
A church service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist in Naples followed by interment at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice Health Care in Naples who provided comfort and compassion to Karen and her family during her final days.
Karen Marie Bloom, age 79, of Bonita Springs, Florida passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021. Karen was born September 21, 1941.
