Doris was born on September 23, 1928 to Lawrence Lee Webb and Nellie Mae McIntyre in Plainfield, Indiana just off of Stafford Road. Doris and her family were raised on different rural farms in central Indiana becoming well versed in the hard work it took to manage farm life and hardships during the depression and war times. Doris was the first in her family to graduate high school from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a young adult, she had several different jobs in her early years including being a switchboard operator at Blocks Department Store and other administrative roles at the Phone Company and Travelers Insurance all in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She married Charles (Charlie) C. Raymond and they began their family of four: Sheryl Whitaker (Jim), Roger Raymond (Karen), Judy Lasley (Bob), Mike Raymond (Julie) who all survive.
Doris was an avid homemaker and caretaker of their small farm in the Waverly, Indiana area. Their family and life on their little farm were a special environment to raise their family and to this day provides many fond memories. Upon Charlie’s untimely death in 1976, Doris was appointed to the Mooresville Consolidated School Board to complete his four-year term and was the first female school board member holding various board roles including the Board Secretary and the Board President.
Following her husband’s death, Doris remarried Paul R. Parker and his children Peggy Worrell (deceased) and Dan Parker of Banta, Indiana extended the family. Doris and Paul transitioned to their Florida lifestyle upon retirement, moving first to Okeechobee, Florida. Upon Paul’s death, Doris became a full-time resident of Marco Island and Naples, Florida spending a short time living in Orlando before returning to Naples, Florida where she lived an active and full life visiting with her many grandchildren and friends. During her retirement years she was an avid tennis player and outdoor walker. Up until her final illness at age 96 she walked 1-2 miles daily.
She had a strong influence on those that knew her by her forthright, but kind approach. She was known to especially help those in her family when there was a need and will be remembered for her strong work ethic.
As the last survivor of her Webb family of eight, she is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Nellie; brothers Raymond, Herb and David Webb; sisters Ruth Webb-Kincaid and Emma Sue Webb-Jones. Doris is survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and many more that have called her Grandma over her lifetime.

Services will be held in Florida, Friday, December 27, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 8200 Immokalee Road, Naples, FL 34119 and in Indiana on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Bluff Creek Christian Church, 6286 W State Road 144, Greenwood, IN 46143.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
