Wilfred Earle (Robbie) Robinson was born June 13, 1929 at a medical facility in the Quarterway area while his parents were living in a logging camp on the side of Mount Benson.
Earle grew up in Lantzville with his brother Ron (deceased), and his sister Barbara Ann (deceased). In 1952 he married his wife of 69 years Catherine Josephine (Rene) Bortolotto. Together they moved to San Bernadino where Earle pursued a career in sports. After several years they returned to Nanaimo where Earle did various jobs before becoming a full time electrician. They had three children, Kevin Craig (KC, deceased), Dean (wife Stephanie), Lisa (husband Gary), three grandsons Owen, Wyatt and Jordan (wife Jenna) and two great grandsons Weston and Thomas. Earle and Rene moved to Cilaire in 1972 where they remained until his death.
Throughout his life he was active in many sports which he continued to play quite late into in his life. The competition and comaraderie that came with his sports was the air that he breathed. God had been good to him, letting him live life under his own conditions until the end (friends, you know what this means!). With failing health, Earle passed away on December 3rd, 2021 at home surrounded by loving friends and family.
On behalf of the family, we would like to extend our thanks to the many friends that contributed to his comfort and well being until the bitter end. In regards to a gathering, the family have decided to wait several months. However, when it does occur, those that knew him best know how he would have wanted the gathering to go. In lieu of Dark Rum have a Scotch in his memory.
