It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Josephina Downey, beloved wife, mother, and friend, who peacefully left this world on December 18, 2024, at the age of 70.
Josephina, “Jose” or “Josie” as many knew her, had a deep love for nature and cherished the time she spent walking with her beloved dog, Breezy, along the scenic beaches and trails of Vancouver Island. She had a keen interest in interior design, a passion for reading, and was a dedicated volunteer in her community. Her exuberant personality, sense of humor, and welcoming demeanor made her a friend to all who crossed her path. Through her kindness and love, she left a lasting impression on countless lives.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Josephina was our biggest cheerleader, always tireless in her efforts to keep her family close and connected. Her love was unconditional, and her support unwavering.
A celebration of life will be held in May 2025 in Nanaimo.
Josephina's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in peace
