Spencer Kent Crenshaw

Spencer Kent Crenshaw, age 70, of Nacogdoches, passed away on March 16, 2023. He was born December 10, 1952 in Santa Maria, CA to the late Stanley and Lois Pribble Crenshaw. He was the son of an Air Force Master Sergeant so he, his brothers, & parents were able to live in and experience multiple places including Michigan, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Mr. Crenshaw graduated from Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii in 1970, attended San Antonio Junior College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education where he attended on a tennis scholarship. He worked in construction in his college years and after graduating worked at the Lufkin State School, The Arc of San Antonio, and Northeast ISD in San Antonio as a life skills instructor. He had a heart for caring for others. Mr. Crenshaw enjoyed surfing, tennis, and running marathons in his early years; scuba diving, guitar, gardening, fishing, hunting, bird watching, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. After retiring he moved to Nacogdoches to be with his children and grandchildren where they spent many happy times together.

He is survived by his wife, Herminia Crenshaw; daughter, Hannah Wright and husband Matt; son, Christopher Crenshaw and wife Anna; daughter, Bella Crenshaw; step-children, Alejandra Sanchez, Marco Sanchez and wife Ariana and Erika Sanchez; brothers, Stephen Crenshaw and Scott Crenshaw; grandkids, Ella Grace and Bennett Wright, Copeland Crenshaw, Marco, Yareli and Fabian Sanchez and Leia and Juliet Maciel.

A memorial mass will be held June 9, 2023 at 11:00 am, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
