Sandra Lee Ward

Sandra Lee (Obery) Ward was born on October 3, 1945 in Hazel Park, Michigan, the daughter of Archie & Josephine (Riss) Obery. She passed from this life on February 29, 2024 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She attained the age of 78 years 2 months and 26 days.

She was united in marriage with Richard Ward and they have enjoyed 54 years together. To this union two daughters were born - Missy and Jennifer. After the children were grown, Richard and Sandra put down roots in Nacogdoches, Texas but continued to travel throughout the states as well as living overseas for ten years.

Sandra had three loves—her husband, Richard; their cat, Sophie; and antiques. Her motto became “if you love what you do, you never have to work”. And she loved everything there was to do with antiques. She maintained a booth in the Nacogdoches Antique Market as well as always being in search of the next purchase (or sale, whatever be the case)!

She is survived by her loving husband Richard, their daughter Jennifer and her husband, Michael Mrozek of Dallas, brother-in-law, John Ward of Mentor, Ohio, and her beloved cat Sophie.

She was preceded in death by daughter Michelle “Missy” Ward.

In honor of Sandra’s wishes, the family will hold a private graveside service in Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches, Texas.
