Dr. Robert Henry Solomon

Dr. Robert H. Solomon, age 91, most recently of Granbury, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Robert was born March 13, 1931 in Belton, Texas to parents Harl Vaughn Solomon and Estelle Boyer Solomon.

Robert attended Waco High School. After high school, he earned a Bachelor degree from Baylor University where he was enrolled in the ROTC program. Upon graduation from Baylor, Robert was stationed in Japan to serve his country as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Air Force.

After returning from Japan, Robert ultimately pursued a career in education, obtaining his Master’s degree from Texas Christian University and his PhD in Management and Marketing from the University of Arkansas. During Robert’s career, he taught at the University of Arkansas, Henderson State University, and Stephen F. Austin State University.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches. During his teaching years, he was a member of various professional organizations and was named in the “Margin of Excellence” campaign at Henderson State University . After he retired, he would volunteer at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

In his free time, he loved being in East Texas at the Lazy K Farm, skiing, and hiking in Colorado, or just being around those he loved.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Juanita Sweatman, and Jean Hubbard; and grandson Robby Solomon.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Lynnette Kilpatrick Solomon; daughter Carol Foster and husband Dave; son, Jim Solomon and wife Robin; grandchildren, Chloe Foster, Timothy Foster, and Rebecca Solomon; great granddaughter, Amelia Marquez,; nieces, Phyllis Sulcer; Nita Jordan, Peggy Hubbard, and Valerie Brown.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Conner Cemetery, Ratcliff, TX.
