Funeral services for Robert Stephen “Steve” Crow, Jr., 82, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf’s Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches with Dr. Allen Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Steve passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, in Nacogdoches.
Steve was born October 19, 1933, in Tyler, Texas to Robert S. and Rose (Eason) Crow. He graduated from John Tyler High School and later Stephen F. Austin State University in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California.
Steve worked for John S. Wyatt Office Supply in Nacogdoches, later purchasing the business. He also bought Story Wright Printing and Office Supply in Lufkin with John S. Wyatt in 1962. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches for 60 years, serving in many different capacities. Steve was a member of the Nacogdoches Jaycees and served as president. He was also an active member of the Nacogdoches Rotary Club for over 50 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
On January 22, 1954, he married Lue Gene Henderson, and she survives him. He is also survived by his daughters, Pamela Stanaland and husband Larry, Jill Hines and husband Kevin; son, Robert S. Crow III; grandchildren, Jennifer Stanaland Thomas and husband Bill, Christopher Stanaland and wife Amanda, Hunter Hines, Haley Hines, Haden Hines, Robert Crow IV, Amanda Crow; great-grandchildren, Duncan Thomas, Oliver Thomas, Kade Stanaland, Lily Stanaland, and Corbin Stanaland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Sue Crow Hayden.
