Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Hicks, 90, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf’s Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Randy Harshbarger officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Old North Church Cemetery.
She was born March 12, 1925, in Nacogdoches County. Pauline was the daughter of the late Ralph Polk and Myrtie (Sparks) Polk. She passed away January 4, 2016, in Nacogdoches.
At a young age she helped care for her three brothers. Later she lovingly cared for her husband of 60 years. She was a great wife, mom, and grandmother. Her vegetable and flower gardens brought enjoyment and beauty to her family. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her great meals with her family and others. She was member of the Stallings Drive Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Ralph Hicks and wife Darlene of Nacogdoches; her daughter, Jean Adams and husband Melvin of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren, Richard Adams and wife Dawn, Kenneth Adams, Debra Caudle and husband Bobby, Rebecca Jennings and husband James, and David Hicks; and one brother, Oneil Polk of Canton.
In addition to her parents, Pauline Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Hicks; great-grandchildren, Emmarie and Chloe Adams; and two brothers, H.L. and Ralph Polk.
