Jimmy Rodriguez, age 94, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Nacogdoches. Jimmy was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 28, 1930, to Victoriano Rodriguez and Lucinda (Trevino) Rodriguez.
Jimmy graduated from Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, TX. He went to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and The University of Texas at Austin.
Jimmy married Margie Pedigo on June 10, 1961, in Jasper, Texas. They raised their 3 children in Houston and Conroe. After retirement, they moved to Nacogdoches and lived in a log home that he finished building.
Jimmy was a reservoir engineer and geologist for Florida Gas Co. and Transco.
Mr. Rodriguez was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord and serving in his church, Sacred Heart.
Jimmy loved photography, golfing, running, gardening, Bible studies, collecting rocks, watching Longhorn football and RV camping across the US and Canada. His greatest love was walking his little dog “Gracie”.
He was part of the photography club, Sacred Heart Man’s Club, Master Gardner, SFA Garden Club, Habitat for Humanity, and Hospice Volunteer. Jimmy was a Bible Study Fellowship graduate and a Veteran of the Korean War.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margie Pedigo Rodriguez; daughter Anne Watson and husband Keith of Marshall, TX; son Mark Rodriguez and wife Alma Del of Conroe, TX; son Matt Rodriguez of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter; Beth Thomas Harris and husband Matt of Longview, TX; grandson Richard Thomas and wife Jessa of Bronx, NY; grandson Lindsey Rodriguez; granddaughter Laci Rodriguez; grandson Matt Rodriguez Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter Ali Watson Craig and husband Jonathan of Longview, Texas; great grandchildren Chloe, Jude, Luke, Evelyn, and Ivy Harris of Longview, TX, Elle and Calvin Thomas of Bronx, NY, and Liam and Brody Craig of Longview, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his loyal dog “Gracie”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings, and former son-in-law Keith Thomas.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Cason Monk-Metcalf, with a graveside service to begin at 2:00 PM at the Chapel in Pedigo Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, LOVE INC, or to a charity of your choice.
