Larry was born December 6, 1940, in Nacogdoches to parents J.E. Bobo and Maggie (Castleberry) Bobo and was raised by his grandmother, Martha Castleberry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roselen Todd Bobo on July 17, 2006. They were married August 11, 1962.
His survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Molly Bobo of Nacogdoches and Mark and Jennifer Bobo of Rowlett, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Dedra and Rob Maas of Richmond, Texas, Kari and Jon Pennington of Lufkin, Texas, and Kristi Bobo of Nacogdoches; sister, Sue Redfield and husband Jim of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law, Melanie Rimsky and husband Paul of DeBerry, Texas; niece, Judith Klein and husband Tim of Alvin, Texas; nephew, David Box and wife Cindy of Huntington, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Courtney Bobo, Andrew Bobo, Landrey Bobo, Emily Bobo, Evan Pennington, Ethan Pennington, and Gunnar Maas.
Larry was steadfast in his love for Christ and his deep commitment to family. He set a lifelong example of unconditional love and devotion to Christian principles. His greatest enjoyment was time spent with his wife, Roselen, and their children and grandchildren.
Larry requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Texas Baptist Children's Home, 629 Farley St., Waxahachie, TX 75165-2701.
Services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Robert Easterling officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
