Frances Ann Simms

Frances Ann (Ross) Simms, age 90, passed away November 12, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loved ones in Nacogdoches, Texas. Frances was born January 31,1934 in Nicholson, Pa. to Robert Roy Ross and Ruth Bell (Horton) Ross. She graduated High school at the age of 16 and then went to Scranton-Lackawanna Business College in Pennsylvania. Fran was primarily a homemaker, but she was also the office manager for the family business, Nacogdoches Real Estate.

Frances loved baking and sewing for her family and sewing clothes for the children. One of the other passions that Frances had was volunteering for the Rainbow Room. She was also involved with the pilot club of Nacogdoches, Texas. Frances was a long-term member of Calvary Baptist in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Frances is survived by Brothers: Robert Ross Jr., Wesley Ross and Lawrence Ross; Sisters: Janet Davis and Laura Major; Son: Bill Simms and wife Pam. Grandsons: Blake Simms and wife Llanary and Ben Simms and wife Grace; Granddaughter: Callie Terry and husband Zak; Great Grandchildren: Steele, Locke, Knox, Quinn; Daughter: Dianne Gray and her husband Bill; Grandsons: Will Gray, Spencer Gray and Zachary Gray and wife Corban and Granddaughter: Sarah Gray.

Mrs. Simms was preceded in death by her father Robert Roy Ross and mother Ruth Belle (Horton) Ross; Husband Bendy Simms Jr.; Sisters: Eleanor Churchill, Roberta Monis and Elba High.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 17, 2024, at Cason Monk- Metcalf Funeral Directors at 2:00 pm. A time to visit with the family will be prior to the services at 1:00 pm. November 17, 2024. Immediately following services interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.
