Dianne Newsom Webb House went to be with the Lord on the morning of September 23, 2016. She died at her home in Nacogdoches, Tx. in peace, with love, admiration, and the comfort of her loving husband, 2 sons, and 2 grandsons. Dianne was born on October 30, 1935 in Lufkin, Tx.
She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in May 1952 as Salutatorian of her class. She then attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. in the Fall of 1952, and graduated magna cum laude in 1956 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts, majoring in both English and Education, with a minor in Art History. While attending S.M.U. she was awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as, serving as an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority. After a move back to her native East Texas in the winter of 1977 to Nacogdoches, she was able to re-kindle many friendships from her youth, while working in the community. She later applied her passion for the Liberal Arts, by achieving a Master of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University in August of 1991, and furthered her career as a faculty member in the English dept., where she had the privilege of teaching until December of 2012.
She is survived by her loving husband Leland Earl House of Nacogdoches; sons David William Webb Jr., Duncan White Webb and wife Angela Pantalion Webb, grandsons Hayden William Webb and Blake Matthew Webb; stepson Leland Earl House Jr. and step-daughter Shari House Rivers. She was preceded in death by her former husband David William Webb, and beloved son Kevin Newsom Webb.
Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches, located at 201 E. Hospital Street, with Dr. Jeff McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the compassionate and attentive care provided by the nurses, caregivers, and staff of Visiting Angels and LifeCare Health Services.
