Albert Charles Lang of Nacogdoches went to be with Jesus on July 12, 2020. Albert was born April 7, 1920 to Daniel Hamilton Lang and Vira (Alders) Lang. Albert was born in the home his father, Daniel, had built for the family and Albert lived in that home until recently.
Albert was a lifelong citizen of Nacogdoches. He was a walking history book of all things Nacogdoches especially Nacogdoches Dragon Football. Albert could recall the statistics of former Nacogdoches High athletes dating back to the 1940s. Albert could always be found on Friday nights in the fall attending home games of the Dragon football team. He especially looked forward to the annual Nacogdoches Dragon/Lufkin Panther football shootout.
Albert could also be heard talking about the history of Nacogdoches, telling others about the buildings, the businesses that occupied those buildings and who owned the businesses. He loved Nacogdoches and the people in Nacogdoches.
Albert was a very special person and a strong Christian. Any conversation had with Albert would always include the Lord and Heaven.
Albert will especially be missed by those who knew him well including his downtown acquaintances and the people of his church.
Albert was preceded in his homegoing by his parents and his brothers Ben and William.
Graveside services will be at Oak Grove Cemetery on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 10:00am with Pastor Dennis Land officiating.
