Sherry Lynn Conarty, known to close friends and family as Sunshine or Aunt Smiley, passed away at age 77 in Muskegon, Michigan. 2nd Timothy 4:7 says “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith.” There are no words more fitting to describe the life of Sherry. Sherry finished her race at 6:40 pm on Saturday, February 27th surrounded by her loving family.
Sherry was born on December 28th, 1943 in Muskegon, Michigan to Fred and Irene Crawford. Sherry attended Holton High school. Sherry would spend her years working as a caregiver and daycare provider. Sherry married John Ross Conarty and the couple spent 57 wonderful years together. Sherry loved Jesus and was not afraid to let anyone know it. She always greeted you with a big smile and the best hugs ever. Sherry loved to pray with anyone and she has led many to the Lord. Her heart was filled with so much love for her children, her husband, and all her family and friends. Sherry loved to knit and crochet. She made many blankets, baby clothes, and hats. Sherry also used her crafting talent to make two thousands masks, with the help of her husband John, when the pandemic first hit.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband John Ross Conatry, grandson Andrew John Buzzell, siblings Fred Crawford Jr., Donald Crawford, Betty Lyons, and Terry Crawford. Parents Fred and Irene Crawford, and parents-in-law Maurice Conarty and Lucille Homan.
Sherry is survived by sons Wendel Conarty (April Locke), and Tyrone (Joanne) Conarty, daughter Denine (Wayne) Burns, siblings Richard Crawford, Robert Crawford, and Howard Crawford. As well as, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
