Russell James Wagner, 86, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 01, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 12, 1937, in Muskegon, Michigan, to William Wagner and Alice “Chaffey” Wagner.
In 1962, Russell married the love of his life, Ruby Wagner, and they shared 61 wonderful years together until her passing in 2023. Russell served his country with honor in the Navy from June 25, 1957, to March 24, 1961, and continued in the Naval reserve until June 24, 1963. He dedicated 41 years of his life to working at Brunswick Co. Russell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Wagner, as well as his siblings Hazel Kelso, Eva Bechtel, and Mabel Calmes.
He is survived by his; siblings: Donald (Dorothy) Wagner and Bernice Harris.
He is lovingly remembered by his; children: Steve Mark (Jill Marie) Wagner and Diane Lynn Allen, as well as his grandchildren, Mark Russell (Jess) Wagner, Michelle Jan Plotts, Chelsey Renae Allen, and Tara Jo Allen. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Jack Steven Wagner, Finn Russell Wagner, Reid Frances Wagner, and Hayden Marie Wagner, along with Codey Leighon Plotts II.
In accordance with Russell’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Life Remembrance gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate his life and the impact he had on those around him.
