The patriarch of the Santos family, Rudy was born April 12, 1940 in San Antonio Texas to Francisco and Maria Louisa Santos. He moved to Muskegon Michigan when he was a young boy. He found his true love, Shirley E. Hill, and married her on March 19, 1960.
Rudy worked for the Muskegon County Road Commission. He took great pride in his work and retired in 2001. Since then we called him the road ranger, checking up on the guys and giving them his input. Rudy was a member of the Latin American Club, bowled for Northway Lanes and was the drummer in a band. If needed, he played different instruments and occasionally sang. He enjoyed camping, fishing and grilling out with his family and friends. He was the grill master. He was a kind, loving, big hearted selfless man who never judged and always saw the good in everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was an amazing dad to his 6 children.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Shirley, and children; Rudolfo (Cindy) Santos, Jr, Dan Santos, Chris (Karen) Santos, Phillip (Kim) Santos, Dena (David) Riffle, 19 grandkids, 34 great grandkids and 4 great great grandkids.
