Pearl Belle McKellar

Pearl Belle McKellar (Monroe),age 78 of Twin Lake, passed away peacefully at the loving and caring Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence after a short and very courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Richard Ernest McKellar who cared for her faithfully while holding her hand until the moment she was received into Gods glory on Saturday morning March 2, 2019. The journey had been difficult, but God is true and faithful to his promises. Although it brings great sorrow for those of us here on earth to be left without her constant nurturing love and faithful guidance, we can find comfort knowing her body is finally at pain free rest and rejoice that her soul is now at peace basking in the loving presence of her precious Lord and Savior.

Pearl was born December 30, 1940, in Hart, Michigan, the daughter of George Edward Monroe and Thelma Mae Monroe (Gilbert). Her parents were also fervent servants for the Lord while diligently teaching their children the message of God and were faithful members of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church. Pearl graduated from Muskegon High School with the class of 1959. She worked as a Nursing Assistant for over 17 years at the Regional Center in Muskegon for the State of Michigan. Pearl and Richard were members of Calvary Baptist Church for many years, where she served as a Deaconess. She found joy in every opportunity to serve Jesus while serving others, and will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the various communities and churches she served. Pearl loved life, loved to travel, and looked forward to spending every moment possible with her family and friends. She had many talents and was extremely gifted in a wide array of crafting skills. She especially loved quilting and sewing, and every opportunity she was given to share her knowledge with those who desired to learn. She shared Tuesday nights sewing with many of the ladies at the church she most currently attended, River of Life Fellowship Church,Twin Lake. She also looked forward to her annual quilting retreats where much laughter and love was shared. The most recent group of friends being named as "The Basement Quilters".

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brothers William Monroe, Ralph Monroe, and Richard Monroe. She is survived by her husband of 49 yrs., Richard E. McKellar; children, Julie (Wayne) Jensen, Richard L. (Pat) McKellar, Linda (Greg) Neiser, Bob (Lisa) McKellar, MaryAnn (Bill) Thornberry, Scott (Kathy) McKellar, Michelle (Larry) Dyer; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in laws, Merlin (Marlene) Monroe, Charles (Darlene) Monroe, George Jr. (Lois) Monroe, Josette Monroe, Anneliese Monroe, Kathy Monroe, Loretta (Frank) Carroll; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.m. in the Ever Rest Funeral Home Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon MI, with Pastor Don Benedict officiating. Open visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Following the service please also join us for a luncheon served at the River Of Life Fellowship Church, 4860 Holton Rd., Twin Lake MI. Open visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 6 pm- 8 pm at the Ever Rest Chapel.
