Jose Francisco Loera Sr., 54, passed away on September 18, 2022. He was born on November 25, 1967 in Muskegon, MI to Roberto and Guadalupe Loera. He attended Muskegon Public Schools, and went on to explore some college at MCC. He had a passion for boxing both participating and spectating. He also loved to watch Professional Wrestling. He would find love in Terri Loera (Schopieray) and the two would go on to spend 35 years together raising a beautiful family. His children would go on to have children and he became the Proudest grandpa in the world, aka “Papi”.
Known to many as “Heavy Shake” or “The Body Loera”, he had a charismatic personality that was sure to light up the room. Whether it was him singing, dancing, or simply telling a few jokes-there was no denying his love of humor and good fun. With his large presence, both in stature and character, he exuded love into his friends and family. Everyone’s favorite Uncle, a middle child but somehow “The Baby”, he knew how to bring his people together.
Battling continuous medical issues, he became a 'health miracle' himself. Continuously beating the odds, Joe never showed any weakness. He would devote his life to a higher purpose, dedicating his time to serving God. To many he was their “Prayer Warrior” and he would proudly show up anywhere to pray over those who needed it. Blessed with the gift of gab he sure knew how to turn someone’s day around. Whether it was the infectious smile or his Kind and compassionate spirit, Joe truly touched the world one person at a time.
