Diane Marie Campbell, age 70, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away on November 25, 2021. Diane was born on March 16, 1951 in Muskegon, daughter of Robert Carlisle and Virginia Conklin Carlisle. Diane grew up in Norton Shores, she was a member of the graduating class of 1969 at Mona Shores High School. Diane married her husband David of 36 years, in 1974. Together they raised their three children, built a Shaklee business within the community, and shared an avid interest in bowling. Diane was an active volunteer in her children's schools, a Cub Scout Mom, and Girl Scout troop leader. Diane was known throughout the community for her many fun hats and captivating smile.
Diane was very caring, always looking out for the needs of her family and friends, and always willing to help in any situation. Diane was a friend to everyone she met. Diane pursued her lifelong dream of learning the guitar in her 60’s, and began singing and playing her guitar with her many friends at Cowboy Jim’s Jamboree. Diane was also an integral part of the success of Dancing into the Sunset in Fruitport.
Diane loved her home town and could often be found taking in the beautiful sites at Lake Michigan. She shared many pictures of sunsets for others to enjoy. She loved the outdoors, flowers, and all of God’s many animals. She had a soft spot for dogs and cats, of which she rescued many.
Diane’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She shared stories, attended their many activities, celebrated their many accomplishments, and made many, many memories with them. Their adventures were countless, and the love she shared was abundant.
Diane was a devoted member of Cloverville Baptist Church, where she attended for many years.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband David R. Campbell, and also by her parents.
Diane is survived by her children and grandchildren: Matthew (KariAn) Campbell (son Levi), Timothy (Kari) Campbell (children Chase, Daiton, Liam and Paisley) and Christina (Juan) Ledesma (children Kileigha, Nadeleighna and Tavares); her siblings: Gary (LaVonne) Carlisle, Linda Burns, and Kym (Tom) Valk; sisters-in-law Donna Bussing and Patsy DeRuiter.
Diane’s family is planning a celebration of life service to be held in January of 2022.
