Carla June Clark, aged 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, to Wayne Camp and Crystal Baughman. Carla met the love of her life, Anthony Clark, on May 6, 1977, with a phrase that captured her forever: "Do you want to play pinball?" She agreed, and a year later, on May 6, 1978, they were happily married.
Carla's love for her husband only continued to grow as they navigated life together. They were rarely not at each other's side. Anyone around them could see what an exceptional couple they were. From love to loss, karaoke to casino trips, time up north at the cabin, and vacations together, they only became stronger together. Theirs was and always will be a bond that goes beyond understanding.
Carla cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandson Sullivan. They shared a special bond that was filled with pure joy, love, and companionship. Their time together was always filled with laughter and happy memories. They loved to read books together, play games, and simply enjoy each other's company.
Carla was always finishing sentences and conversations with random song lyrics and loved little inside jokes with many of her friends. She knew every little quirky jingle and theme song from all the old great shows. Her love of food and eating out goes unsurpassed. It was her absolute favorite conversation and passed along constantly talking about "what's for dinner or lunch" to her daughter. If you were friends with Carla, you were family. Carla was a bonus mom to many, welcoming all the extra kids, friends, and neighbors, always making them feel special and loved. Many state to this day that some of their best childhood memories are from their time spent at the Clarks.
Carla loved working at Fruitport Schools. Students and other employees alike cherished her. Carla had such a kind and gentle personality that everyone was drawn to. Her humor and loving ways drew countless friends to her, and she considered them like family. From summer days at the pool to gatherings at the Eagles and VFW, she was never without friends. Carla will be missed by all who knew her.
Carla is survived by her husband, Tony Clark, daughter Gera (Elijah) Wier, grandson Sullivan Wier, "other daughter" Katie Fairchild (Parker), Marilyn Wagonmaker (beloved friend), brother and sister-in-law Mark and Janet Camp, in-laws Joe and Kim Clark, Ed and Dawn Clark, and Russ and Daisy Clark, and so many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and of course, her Florida friends.
Greeting her in Heaven is her daughter Julie Anne Clark, her parents Wayne and Crystal Camp, Lorraine Camp, her brother Gary Camp and his wife Marcia, and their sons Peter and Billy, her mother and father-in-law Gerald and Geraldine Clark, best friend Cheryl Morgan, and many other dear friends.
A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the VFW 3195, 5209 Grand Haven Road, Norton Shores, Michigan from 2pm-6pm
In lieu of flowers, it was Carla's wish that any donations be made to Sullivan Wier's college fund so that his future will grow in her honor.
