She was born in Alamosa, Colorado on December 7, 1951 to William A. and Elsie Thomason. She moved to Watertown in 1969 and graduated from Watertown High School in 1970. She attended Draughon’s Business College and graduated with her Associate Degree as a medical secretary. She was employed by Vanderbilt Medical Center for 40 years. She married Merlin Rich formally of the San Luis Valley in Colorado on December 8, 1973. They were married 47 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Elsie Thomason. She is survived by her husband Merlin Rich. She was the mother of one son Michael Rich (wife Rachel) and grandson Elijah Daniel. She had two sisters, Wilma Rich (Larry) of Browerville, Minnesota and Elaine Thomason (Jody Valley) of East Lansing, Michigan. She was loved by nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Her friends will miss her too. Billie loved music – singing, playing the organ and her clarinet. She was active in her church and her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31.
The memorial service will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home at 5350 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee on August 31, 2021 at 2pm. Visitation will be ½ hour prior to the service.
