Peggy was born Friday, May 6, 1932, in Frankfort, Kentucky, to the late John and Mary (Moore) Hartman. On October 2, 1960, she married the love of her life Donald Pike, and they shared fifty-seven beautiful years together. Peggy was a proud Kentuckian; she loved cheering on the Cats and was awarded Kentucky Colonel for her service to its citizens. Peggy retired from the Department of Child Services. She was proud of her role as an officer for the Salvation Army. More than anything, Peggy loved her boys and being with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Don (Julia) Pike and Dan (Jennifer) Pike; sister, Aurora Zang; grandchildren, Matt (Tara) Pike, Samantha Warpool, Cody Pike, Katie Pike, and Cole Pike; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Grayci, and Gannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pike; daughter, Mary Jane Pike; parents, John and Mary (Moore) Hartman; brothers, John Hartman, Howard Hartman, Frank Hartman, and Edward Hartman; sisters, Edith Nash and Florence Thurman.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park .
