Glen was born in Byrdstown, Tennessee, the son of Carson E. and Mary E. Garrett. His family moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1940. Glen served in the U.S. Army from 1965- 1970.
He retired from GM after 35 years of service and was a member of UAW local 499.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, son Matthew, granddaughter Natalie and daughter in-law Jennifer, sister Rozell, brother Rick (Carolyn), brothers in-law Tim Morgan (Stephanie), Garrett Varner (Kathy), Tony Varner (Jean), John Whitenack (Kris); sister- in-law Lynette Varner (Mark-deceased); several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Hospice of Southern Kentucky for their wonderful care and the Kentucky community for their many prayers.
Calling hours will be private for family only from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday,
November 30, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will immediately follow at Jones Cemetery, Yorktown, Indiana. A meal will be provided following the burial service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana.
