Fred attended Southside High School, bur he graduated from Union High School in 1971. Fred went on to work thirty-seven years for Warner Gear/Borg Warner until they closed the plant in 2009. After retirement, he went back to school at Ivy Tech and proved you can teach an old dog new tricks. He graduated on the Dean’s List and earned his Certificate in Construction Technology. His first love was farming, he was exposed as a young man and it got in his blood. He was happiest in a field on a tractor. A highlight of his life was introducing his very young great grandson to the joy of driving a large tractor.
Fred leaves behind his wife of thirty-seven years, Deb; his daughter, Kacey (Will) Simmons; his son, Bradford Norris; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Joe; three sisters; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and his loving in-laws.
His father, Fred Norris Sr., his mother, Wilma Norris; and his brother, John Norris, preceded Fred in death.
There will be no services; a celebration of life will be announced later. Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
