Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. Prior to that, Arthur worked at Ball Brothers Corporation as a Draftsman in the Engineering Department. After his service in the military, Arthur worked at Huffman Chevrolet for thirteen years as a mechanic, and at Delaware County Farm Bureau Co-op for seventeen years as a department manager. He retired in 2001 from Jim Allen Maintenance and Petro Technology.
After retirement, Arthur began publishing the “Bluebird Flyer”, a monthly E-Newsletter that contained a gathering of alumni memories and stories from earlier years at Selma High School. These newsletters are now archived at both the Ball State University Library, and at the Minnetrista Center.
Arthur is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Linda Haney; two sons, Layne Haney (fiance Kimberly Ondras) and Kim (Ron) Wiggerly; three daughters, Brenda (Gregory) Perry, Denise (Terry) Bland and Terri (Michael) Rousey; nine grandchildren; Jasmine Rockwell, Shawn Perry, Ian Rousey, Jordan Perry, Dylan Haney, Breana Campbell, Trey Bland, Holly Haney and Tyann Blackburn; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Arthur is preceded in passing by his parents, Henry and Thelma Haney; one sister, Loretta Alley; and one brother, Robert Haney.
Services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. Visitation will be 11:00AM to 1:00pm Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
