Mae L Fontenot

She was born in Morse, La and lived in Moss Bluff most of her life. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, where she served as the first Vocational Minister of the parish. She was a lifetime member of the Alter Lady Society and taught CCD at St. Theodore’s for 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and caregiver.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Fontenot, Phillip Fontenot (Jeannice), Van Fontenot and fiance’ (Jennifer LeBleu); daughters, Neoma Owen (Cree) and Martha Fontenot all of the Lake Charles area; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Fontenot; parents, Claybert and Neoma LeBlanc and her 10 siblings.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 4pm until 8pm with a rosary at 6pm and will resume at 8am Friday until time of service at the Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10am at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Msg. Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery.
