Debra Eilene West

Debra was born on November 27, 1961 to parents Melvin and Edith Nixon in Lake Charles, LA. She was a life-long resident of the Moss Bluff area, working in construction as a painter.

She kept true to her faith throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Edith Nixon, daughter Misty Dawn Edwards, sister Shirley Ann Bergeron, and a granddaughter Makayla Edwards.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Eric Nixon and wife Taisha, Jerry Lynn Edwards II, Kenneth Roy Hawkins Jr.; daughters Kimberly Kinney and husband David Mitchell, Melanie Hawkins; brothers Guinn Bergeron, Kenneth Nixon, Joseph Nixon; sisters Barbra Smith, Tambria Broussard of Sulphur, LA; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Moss Bluff Chapel starting at 4 pm on Friday November 26, 2021 until 9 pm and will resume Saturday November 27, 2021 at 8 am until the time of service. The funeral service will begin at 10 am on Saturday November 27, 2021 led by Rev. Jared Pugh. Burial will immediately follow at New Ritchie Cemetery.
