WE WERE FRIENDS AS CHILDREN AND WENT TO SAME SCHOOL. BETTY  REEVES WAS MY BEST FRIEND GROWING UP. I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS AND WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR PERSONAL SUPPORT.MY PRAYERS ARE BEING SENT FOR THE FAMILY,MAY DARRELL REST IN PEACE!! GOD BLESS.

My condolences  to his wife and sister, and family , and friends, I knew Darrell  in the 60's, I guess you  would call it puppy love, he rode horses  with me and my DAD  in Hecker, I was sixteen and he was nineteen,  thought about him often , but I knew we had our own life's, rest in peace,   love always in my heart. Uncle dick I'm gun miss u so much all our talks from the rodeo s to the first time I caut a bass u took us to Mike and Tammy pond teaching us how to shoot a gun and bringing us squirrel hunting I always loved our talks bout the old days and just life in general there was never a dull moment wit u u would call me3 or 4 times a,day and we would talk bout the same things over and over I new I had to answer every call cause if i didn't I knew when I saw u u would have a couple choice words for me I could count on Saturday or Sunday morning u would come no matter how tired i was I would get up cause u wasn't leaving i could here u holler get that ass out bed boy Maddox still has all the knifes u gave him  and Chloe and tucker new when the saw u u had money for the I'm gun miss u so much UNC u were my uncle but more than that u were like my best friend when my dad died u stepped up and maid sure I was ok I love u more that words can express if only we could take one more ride

Uncle, I don’t know where to even start... some of the fondest memories I have as a kid were shared with you. You taught me so much about horses. When you were breaking Seminole I was just learning to ride and we rode nearly everyday. I remember you had this welsh pony you were breaking for someone and you had me ride it back down the road and you were gonna drive behind me well the pony had other plans and took off running through aunt Peggy and uncle mervins yard and all I can remember is you yelling at me to jump off so I bailed off and the horse kept going! I remember when you first got Vicki’s big boy and brought him to our barn and you and dad had me start legging him back up. The bruises on my legs from that little jockey saddle were all worth it when  y’all were in the winners circle taking that picture. You taught me so many life lessons and impacted my life more then you will ever know and I will forever be grateful for it. I love you unc and this isn’t goodbye this is until we meet again. Rest easy dickle give granny and uncle luey and uncle Dave a big hug and kiss for me!

 Such a fun & loving Person,,, i am very proud to have known Darrell, he seemed to always be there when i needed him, or needed advice.... His smile and charisma  was next to none....
  I will miss my friend, but I shall keep his memory with me until i see him again....

Uncle, I can never express how much you have impacted my life. Thinking back when we were growing up you were always a big part of our lives, bloody bones and shiney eyes will always be remembered! Our long talks on mawmaws porch about life were the best, I'm so glad my son got to meet you and he will forever remember uncle  dickle playing with him. Fly high my angel!! Tell daddy granny and uncle Larry we miss them so much.

There are truly no words that could ever measure up what you’ve done for me, my children, and my family or the life lessons, skills, joy, and love you brought in our lives and for those moments I will be forever grateful ♥️ From teaching my son to ride a bike, bounce a basketball, ride a horse, drive a tractor, potty train, tie a shoe.. list goes on and countless times of keeping my children for me I could never have imagined how you would come into our lives and make such an impact. You will truly be missed Paw.  As we are deeply saddened we know you are no longer suffering and that you are in a better place. Until we are all together again we love you Paw fly high and watch over us.

I really don't know where to begin because you were always such a huge part of life from the very beginning. I will miss you terribly. You were not just my uncle, you were my friend, my husband's best friend, my brother, and my childrens UNCLE.  I remember you thumping us behind our ears, you borrowing our cars and me borrowing yours, hauling me and Mike around to the Rodeo's and teaching us to be the best, teaching us how to ride, you ruining my round bed by sleeping in the middle by making a dent in it and me having to sleep with Vic cause that was your bed, teaching us to dance, hanging out when I grew up and got married, roping with Denny and David and being the best UNCLE to Kel and Denny , being Denny's best friend and taking up the slack after David passed, crying with me and telling me everything is gonna be ok after David died. YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE! Fly high Uncle! Hug Granny for me and tell David I still miss him as much as I did when he left me.

He leaves behind his wife and racing partner, Harriett Hayes Duplechin of Sulphur; one son, Shawn; one daughter, Wendy; sister, Betty Reeves and husband Wayne of Topsy, LA; step children; grandchildren and his little buddy “Cujo”. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delco and Ella Duplechin; brother, Larry Duplechin and sister, Nora Broussard.
