Tracy Ebon Officer, 65, of Packwood, Washington, left us to meet Jesus face-to-face on Thursday, October 26, 2023. On June 25, 1958 Tracy was born to parents, Ernest and Vivian Officer in Seattle, WA. He was one of five children.
Tracy grew up in the Seattle area and he graduated from Woodside High School in Seattle, Washington in 1976. He worked at the 76 Gas Station in high school and stayed with them nearly a decade. Tracy joined the Boilermakers Union and was with them for several years. He was a hot rod enthusiast, enjoying showing off and cruising around in his cars.
After his father’s passing in 1997, Tracy and his mother moved to the Packwood/Randle area. You could often find him outside simply enjoying himself. Tracy enjoyed working in his garden…cooking and canning the fruits and veggies of his labor; that was most rewarding. A day in the woods with a chainsaw or chopping firewood outside…it just never came across as work to Tracy.
Tracy was a kind soul, making animals feel safe in his presence. He had many cats to keep him company as a testament to the security of his presence. Also, Tracy lived with and acted as a caregiver for his mother for many years up until her departure of the world in 2021; unwaveringly dedicated to those he loved.
Preceded in death by his father, Ernest James Officer (1997), and his mother, Vivian Louise Broughton Officer (2021). Tracy understood the importance of family.
He is survived by his siblings, Ralph Officer, Cary Officer, Maria Murphy (Tim Murphy), Emilie Sword; along with his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tracy will be remembered, he will be missed.
The family would like to thank Peace Health Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, for all of their kindness and compassion during Tracy’s stay. Along with The Cat Lady, Carol Mosshart, in Packwood, Washington. She helped to rescue all of Tracy’s many cats after his passing.
Tracy donated his hair to Locks of Love during his lifetime here. Upon his death, he gave the most precious gift of all; the gift of sight. Tracy was an organ donor. Both of his Corneas were successfully donated to a recipient after his passing, and his legacy of kindness lives to see another day.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Randle, Washington. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brown Mortuary Service, Morton.
