Roger Clay Short Jr.

Roger Clay Short Jr, age 47 of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home. He was a member of James Chapel American Christian Church. He served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Wanda Short; nephew, Geoffrey Edward Short; uncle, Leroy Purkey; and aunts, Sandra Marie Brown and Patricia “Cricket” Purkey.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Julie Short; children, Amber (Will) Thompson, Brigitte (Daniel) Thomas, Tamara (Raymond) Strohl, Pam (Michael) Rhodes, Nicholas Clay Short; grandchildren, Adalyn Strohl, Charlee Strohl, Shilo Thomas; siblings, George Short, Parnell (Renee) Short, Carolyn (Johnny) Dean; mother-in-law, Mary Catherine Day; brother-in-law, Roger (Nina) Day; sister-in-law, Melissa (Jerry) Norton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gretchen Short and Casey Richards.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 6 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20th at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Atkins and Rev. Phil Seaton officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
