Rev. John A. Hopkins, age 81, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He served in both the United States Army and Navy during the Korean War and Vietnam War. Rev. Hopkins was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Hopkins; and brother, Bill Hopkins. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hopkins; children, John (Terri) Hopkins of Knoxville, Diane Hopkins of Thomasville, GA, Donna (Tom) Fowler of West Palm Beach, FL, and Amy (Carlton) Baker of Damascus, VA; grandchildren, Mindy Hopkins and Ashley Fowler; brother, Robert Hopkins Jr; sisters, Blanche (Ed) Murray and Midge (Clayton) England; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Sunday, December 20th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Epps officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church or St. Jude's Hospital. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
