Gary Lee Adkins

Gary Lee “Nub” Adkins (71) of Mooresburg, TN passed away in his home on Sunday, August 14, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Gary has lived a good, and long-life glorifying God and has been a Christian example to everyone he met. He was a faithful member and deacon of First Independent Freewill Baptist Church in Bean Station, TN.

After 30+ years of service with TRW, in Rogersville, TN he retired from factory life and became a realtor, working alongside the Elite Reality Group in Morristown, TN.

Gary was born in Man, West Virginia to James and Myrtle (White) Adkins. Both his brother, Robert Eugene Adkins, and sister, Louise Marie (Adkins) Graham preceded him in death. Now, after almost one year, Gary is reunited with the love of his life of 50 years, Debbie Lynn (Hensley) Adkins.

Together Gary and Debbie had three children, Tony Adkins, Steven (Tricia) Adkins, Amanda (Kelvin) McMahan. Over the years Gary and Debbie helped support, love and raise their 14 grandkids and 2 great-grand kids.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with the service to follow a 1:00 PM with Rev. Michael Elkins and Rev. Gary Baxley officiating at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Hamblen Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
