Ret. MSgt. Darrell L. Long, 73 of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Durham Hensley Nursing Home in Chuckey.
He retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service and was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Kyle Lodge # 422 F. & A. M. in Whitesburg.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Mary Long of Morristown; grandparents: Charlie and Stella Long of Church Hill and William and Rosa Eaton of Church Hill.
He is survived by his daughters: Delena Thomas and Sabrina Long; Grandchildren: Anastasia, Bryan, Michael, Tyler and Matthew. Great grandchildren: Rowan, Jasper and Emma. Sister: Marie Long, brothers: C.E. Long and Scotty (Patty) Long, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM.
Military graveside services will be Saturday, July 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
