Coy was well respected and greatly loved by all who knew him. He was a lifelong member of Barnard's Grove Missionary Baptist Church and an Army Veteran. He retired from America Enka BASF after 33 years of service, then went to work for the Hamblen County School System where he served as an electrician for 13 years. Coy also served on the Grainger County School board for 44 years. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed working and doing electrical work for his community and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Elisha and Mollie McDaniel, brothers: Dean and Eugene McDaniel and his wife: Helen Sue McDaniel.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Melissa Everhart (Virgil) and Dr.Staci Boruff (Scott); grandchildren: Suzanne Everhart, Joshua Everhart (Madisen), Riley Boruff and Bailey Boruff. Sister: Myrtle Lamb; brother-in-law: C.H. Harvel; sisters-in-laws: Barbara Dilly, Phyllis McDaniel and Helen McDaniel, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Special neighbors: Richard and Nancy West.
His family will receive friends, Monday, March 25, 2024 at Stubblefield Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Rev. Kenny Cole officiating.
Family and friends will gather at 10:45 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 AM Military Graveside service.
