ANGELINE H. McCRACKEN of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at her home following a lingering illness. She was saves at an early age and was a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Whitesburg.
She was retired from American Enka. After her retirement at age 65 she worked in many restaurants in the Morristown area where she became affectionately known to many friends and co-workers as “Granny”. She loved to piece quilts and has quilted many beautiful quilts by hand. She also loved her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; Max E. Jones II, brothers; James Hayes, James Parrish, and Eulis Carroll, sisters; Mable Thomas and Lizzie Christian and daughter-in-law; Gayle McCracken.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Betty and Don Holder of Whitesburg, two sons and daughter-in-law; John W. and Faye McCracken of Morristown and James L. and Ingrid McCracken of Pembrook Pines, FL. Brother and sister-in-law; Harry and Joyce Parrish of Kingsport. One special granddaughter; Pamela McCracken who lived with her and faithfully helped care for her for the past 11 years. Five other grand children; Josh Holder, Tammy (Gerald) Sapp, Warren (Donna) McCracken, Kim Carroll and Jennifer Hickson.
Three great-grand children; Matthew (Traci) Carroll, Emily Sapp and Justin Jones.
One great-great-granddaughter; Graciana Ailleen Thompson .
Special nieces and nephews; Mary England, Albert Thomas and Jimmy (Judy) Christian.
Several other nieces and nephews and a host of friends and her dog Bailey who was her faithful companion.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Donny Myers and the Rev. Troy Daily officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, September 9 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for a 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be; Josh Holder, Warren McCracken, Jimmy Christian, Danny Cox, Albert Thomas and Gerald Sapp.
