William was a man of honor, standing on business when it came to his family. He always said, “it didn’t matter what you do in this world take care of yourself and love one another”. He taught us how to be in the big world, and how to simply be you and to never give up on life. Our father worked all his life. He loved to fish, drive his corvette, listening to his music, he loved to spend time with his grandkids, and he loved to cook. He had jokes for days, always cracking jokes. Overall, he was there for his family and loved us dearly.
Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy O'Neil Lipscomb; by two sisters, Janet Lipscomb and Pee Wee Lipscomb; and a brother, Michael Lipscomb.
Those left behind to cherish William's memory include four children, Kyesha Lipscomb, William Lipscomb Jr, Deanna O’Neil and Wayne O’Neil; 10 grandchildren, Tashalla O’Neil, Tykia Caldwell, Dontavis Caldwell, Jordan Coffey, Caven Lipscomb, Kyalh Lipscomb, Avah Lipscomb, Asiah Lipscomb, Chozyn Lipscomb and Saviien Zaiyn Lipscomb; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie Lipscomb and Richard Lipscomb; and two sisters, Christine Lipscomb and Alphina Lipscomb. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton. A "Celebration of William's Life" will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home's chapel.
