Nyia is preceded in death by his father, Nao Tou Moua. He is survived by his mother, Neng Yang, his fiancé of 11 years, April Vang, 4 older brothers, Teng Moua, Shoyeh Moua (Mary Vang), Vischai Moua (Blia Vang), Danny Moua (Panou Xiong), 3 older sisters, Yeng Moua (Keith Geiger), Shavathi Moua (Nikolay Burunov), Pa Moua (Nazario Ramirez), and 19 nieces and nephews.
Nyia Kouh Moua, also known as “Money” to many, was born on June 5th, 1990 in Fresno, California. His family moved to Morganton, North Carolina in 1997, where he attended W.A. Young Elementary School, Table Rock Middle School, and Freedom High School. He moved to Charlotte, NC in 2013, where he received his Associate in Science – Biological Life Sciences degree at Central Piedmont Community College. Nyia had helped his siblings with all of their businesses throughout the years and was last working at his sisters’ restaurant, Sushi Queen, as a Sushi Chef and Manager.
Nyia Kouh enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going on trips, and trying out new foods and restaurants. He had the best personality and was able to make friends with almost anyone he met.
Nyia was an adventurous person, full of ideas and imagination. He was the kindest, hardworking, fun-loving person who always helped others before he helped himself. He loved to tell silly jokes, as well as play jokes on friends and family. His laugh and smile were infectious!
Some truth in life are hard to accept. Your memories will never be forgotten.
Funeral Mass for Nyia Kouh Moua will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Morganton. The family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Moua Family has entrusted arrangements to Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton.
