Meridith Eileen Carey

Meridith Eileen Rosenberger Carey, age 79, of Morganton, was called to her Heavenly Home to be reunited with her husband and love of her life, Fred Carless Carey, on February 20, 2023. Meridith was born to the late Frank Rosenberger and Betty Sylvester Rosenberger on September 24, 1943 in Alliance, Ohio.

Along with her parents, Meridith was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Rosenberger Egli; a sister-in-law, Patricia Rosenberger and brother-in-law, Richard McCarty.

Meridith spent many years as a beautician in Ohio until Fred retired; at which point, they moved to Hawaii. After the birth of their Grandson, Meridith and Fred settled in Morganton, NC where Meridith retired from Walmart in 2013, after 20 years of service. Since retiring, she enjoyed front porch rocking and the joy of her great grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish their memories include her daughter, Melissa Carey Houston and her husband Keith; a grandson, Tyler M. Carey and his wife Lauren; two great granddaughters, Clara June Carey and Eileena Reese Carey; a sister, Sharon Rosenberger McCarty; a brother, Larry Rosenberger; and a brother in-law, Tom Egli. Meridith is also loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

Meridith also has many other grandchildren and great grandchildren that brought her much joy, including, grandson, Joshua Houston and wife Taylor; great grandchildren, Makenzee, Braxton and Maddox; granddaughter Hannah Houston; great grandchildren Anona and Atticus; grandson, Caleb Houston; great grandson, Preston; granddaughter, Sarah Houston; granddaughter, Leah Houston; grandson Pierre LeVan III and wife Annie; grandson, Derrick LeVan.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Liberty Cemetery in Minerva, Ohio.
