Linda Darlene Reed

Linda "Darlene" Reed, age 60, of Lenoir, NC passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Linda was born the daughter of the late Thurman S Reed and Lula Bell Williams Reed on September 18, 1961 in Newland, NC.

Darlene worked as a cook many years. She was employed by Shoney's Restaurant in Morganton, Piedmont Vending of Hickory and then she ended her working career at Moore's Ridge Catering of Lenoir.

Along with her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by a daughter, Elisha L. Miller; four brothers, Charles, Bobby, Ervin and Richard Reed; and a sister, Lydia Reed.

Those left behind to cherish Darlene's memory include a daughter, Joy Reed Ikard of Hickory; a son, Matthew Miller and his fiancé Brie Kempkers of Hickory; a granddaughter, O'Sheana Reed of Hickory; two grandsons, Elijah and Kylan Miller of Hickory; four great grandchildren, Kaidence Ruff, Jai'ceon Ruff, AH'merion Phillips and A'Ryia Phillips, all of Hickory; a sister, Hilda Reinhardt (Darrell) of Morganton; two brothers, Gary Reed (Brenda) and Billy Reed of Morganton; and her children's father and a lifetime friend, George "Joe" Miller of Morganton. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Darlene's life will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Glen Hilton Jr. Memorial Park in Hickory.

The family suggests memorials be made to the SECU Family House in Winston-Salem, NC.
