Katie Lou Phillips

She was born the late Hannibal Dula, and Marie Phillips on September 02, 1950 in Caldwell Co.

Katie was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest, she loved her family and friends. She was a part of the Sara Lee bowling team. Katie was an active member of Resurrection Cathedral under the leadership of Pastor Gene Howell where she served an Elder, and head usher. Katie was an avid Washington Redskins fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Frederick Phillips, and Larry Dula.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children; Paulina Maria Cutherbertson (Trent) of Morganton, Franklin Rod Thomas of Lenoir, grandchildren; Trent & Tristan Cuthbertson both of Morganton, a great granddaughter, Emerie Cuthbertson, siblings; Malcolm Phillips, Gloria Cunningham (Clarence) both of Maryland, Sallie Burgess (Steve) of Hartland, Alice Sumlin (Rex), Mattie Phillips, and Jenelle Phillips all of Lenoir, Debra, Sonamay, Princess Anderson, Hannibal Dula, and Donnie Dula, also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Pastors Benjamin Douglas Cuthbertson and Gene T. Howell, Officiating.
