Iva Hellen (Burkhardt) Jordan

Iva Burkhardt Jordan, 98, daughter of the late John and Hannie Jamison Burkhardt passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Mountain Ridge Health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Benartz Jordan and her son Harrington Jordan.

Iva was a dedicated member of North Cove Baptist Church where she served as a former treasurer and sang in the choir. She enjoyed being outdoors playing golf, fishing and even deer hunting in her younger years. She has also served as a 4-H leader and Bible School teacher. She worked for Armored Garments, Maramont and Henredon, but she was proudest of being a witness to God, a wife, and a mother to her five boys.

She is survived by four sons, Bennie Jordan (Martha), Stanley Jordan (Marilyn), Kenneth Jordan, Paul Jordan (Michele) all of Marion. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Benartz Jordan (Amber), Stephen Jordan, Savannah Jordan, Kaleigh Jordan, and Alex Jordan and one great grandchild, Benson Jordan.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at North Cove Baptist Church, 2264 Old Linville Road, Marion, NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service in the church cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may donate to North Cove Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
