Erica Hope Johnson Walker

Erica was born in Morganton, North Carolina on June 22, 1982, to the Rev. Randolph Lynn Johnson and Barbara Victoria Sparks. She was married to her husband of fifteen years, Troy Walker. Erica was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church and was very family oriented. She was a free spirited optimist who was always full of life. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and the love she shared with all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bob Sparks; her Paw Paw, Jack Hallyburton; an uncle, Joseph Sparks; two brothers in law, Keith Buff and Rodney Ferrell; and a cousin, Daniel Maynard.

Erica is survived by her husband, Troy Walker; her children, Jakob, Emily, and Morgan Walker; her mother, Vickie Sparks & companion Richard Perkins; her father, Randy Johnson & “Mama 2,” Revonda; her paternal grandparents, Don & Sue Johnson, all of Morganton; two sisters, DeShane Buff of Florence, South Carolina and Beth Johnson of Morganton; a step sister, Chrystal Thomas; a step brother, Timothy Ogle, both of Morganton; several nieces and nephews; many cousins; and her beloved dogs, Charlie and Ivy.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton with the Rev. Richard Ellington officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
